hey buddy!!!
the sound looks great but for me isn't full..., i think that you need structurize a bit the melodies & synth leads, you need to develop it too much ...the synths are samples too repetitives and don't evolve....4 me it sounds a lil' plain.. not for vst's, equalize or fx that you need is to create a history,, feel the sound ,, dont trust in your ears, better trust in your perception... the music sounds better when you can percibe a full trip, when the sound can transport u to the autors trip... all the good producers can do this ... doesn't matter the genre of music that you producing need to feel the music... you are making a big work with eq. bass modulation and the general estructure of the track keep producing and compare it with you wants to get...and learn from the errors
posibly this is my form to percibe the music but the time show me that i'm not too wrong see ya.... luck

Thanks for the feedback everyone, it helps a lot.
I basically threw out the last new track I made after coming back to it and realizing how much time I would waste trying to make it good, then took the basics from it, the tracks and effects, instruments and everything, and remade it into this;

Which I think is a step in the right direction... But I have been wrong many times before so... I'll let other ears be the judge.

that's gonna be a sick track! I love all the activity and I really like the melodic lines too!
The mix is a little rough, but I think if you pulled back the super noisy lead to, like, half it's current volume level, and maybe eq the lead situation in general, maybe bring the bass level up a little
( or maybe not if you don't want to) ,it would totally slam!
Cool ideas, now just help them to (as Mary Anne Hobbs famously said during the Breezeblock Radio Drum and Bass DeathStar Blaze-Down on October 10, 2005) "chew up your speakers and spit them out in chunks!"
Keep going on it!
Andy

joe, this track is going to be really nice man. I concur with andy on the lead thingy being reduced, tighten the mix up, definitely if you are in to more of a slamming vibe, increase the bass volume, maybe open up a little, if you feel it needs it!
BOOM!
