Its just a subgenre in the darkpsy style...
Neuoro for me is total brain takeover.. Like a brain operation, this music can really do something with your head....

Actually neurotrance was just another name for dark psy in the begining, but it has evolved into it's own little sub genre but it also applies to a broad range of music in the dark side as well.
I like to find the tracks that specifically set off the mental process in the brain and cause you to have a mental journey inside your mind. Kind of like the most mentally trippy music that can be found.
I have a very developed case of synesthesia and neuro psy is the stuff that makes me see all the colors and shapes and textures of the sound.
I find that it is usually the more forest or organic inspired stuff like Derango or or Pondscum or similar styles of the forest or outdoor music.
UnreleaZz is a prime example of an artist who I think makes very neuro enhanced music. I heard a few of his demos and it just made my brain go off on a trip.
Usually the stuff being called neuro is the lower end of the bpms for us about 145-155 or even up to 160, which has very complex but discernable layers of sound and it has a lot of change ups and layers of mental stimulating effects and samples.
The stuff I find most for the neuro is mainly in the dark forest genre or influenced by that style of music.
Pagan Forest Magik will be out in a few weeks time. I was very selective and picky when I put it together and did my best to compile the best tracks I could find to highlight the neuro enhancing sounds.
Lets see here, Fatal Discord, StrezZ, Cuboid Atom, Shadai/T.D.R., Unreleaz, Sychotria, Komfuzius, Dragon, Vegetal. Those are the artists I found that had tracks that make your brain trip out.
All told it is a way of making the dark scene have some more evolution and bringing in some new ways to expand the mind.
Erofex, Malice In Wonderland, Wizack Twizack, Highko, Psykovsky, those are some others who I feel have a very neuro style to their music.
Oh and I can't forget Tryambaka, that guy has some of the craziest neuro enhancing music I have heard yet. The Colour of Time is one of most mind expanding albums this year.
Just listen to my Overwhelming Fear of 13 set, it is one I selected for the mental trip factor and took a very long time to perfect and build up.
Also 3 Year Acid Trip was made completely as a neuro trip style set.
Sorry for the long reply, but it's a complicated issue. I thought people were pulling my chain when I first heard them saying neuro psy, but Dragon kind of showed me what he meant when they used the term.

have to agree with andy..... neuro is fast( 160 +) with short glitchy movements and brain sugery like soundscapes it is very intence, also there there is morning neuro witch is less dark and more goofy then the nighttime stuff is still really crazy and awsome(psykovsky morniing sets) but to each there own i guess, but if you asked me what i play id tell you neuro madness!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Neurotrance for me is just ~160 bpm darkpsy that comes from the Southeast United States.
Specifically altered and made for those crazy Ashville folk at World Bridge festival.
