Even knowing they where invited and not self proposed, is it possible they go more mainstream?

Is for a good cause (sustainability) but still with United Nations?
Would like to know your thoughts about this, thanks.

never was a fan of Boom, but this is ridiculous

they claim to stand for underground...yeah right

I have been in the last 4 editions of Boom, and in the last one before i went i had already decided would be the last one, and after be there in 2008 yes i am sure is my last time, but this goes beyond anything for god sake.

What after? A UN Delegation in the Liminal Village or something

I wasn't planning to go anyway..

I think message there is that Boom is going to represent [us] (not mainstream and not commercial / income driven ) music organisations and people who like psychedelic culture in UN.
Since UN have power and can influence politics Boom will contribute to make word a better place for freaks like us

From high-level, overall view I think it is good that Boom is recognized by UN.
From my personal, microscopic view - i do not care. I never been to Boom and probably will never go.

I also dont go, and wanst planning to go.

The question here is bigger than that. I dont know what kind of thoughts and ideas you have about UN, but from my own perspective and own opinion is not a good one at all.

The question is, what kind of attention is /will this bring to the Scene?

Can be good? yes, it might have his good points, more people (as long as it is good people) is always invited.

But i am not sure at all what kind of attention this will attract to the scene in General

hmm, yes, I see you point now. indeed this can bring "unwanted" attention.

as for UN I tend to think of it in a positive way more than the negative.

UN seem to be rather into the New Age business themselves. Ringing a bell for Summer Solstice at their meetings, being associated with Lucis Trust, and now Boom.

Lucius Trust is their official publish house since the beginning, their higher meetings and summits (nice word actually to describe their meetings) occur normally in pagan holidays and days of pagan celebration, etc.
But just study their plans, and you will see that matches their plan

I don't want to offend anybody by stating ''we all become puppets''
but on the bottom line we do work for the $ otherwise we cannot survive... this is the meaning I put
example: i work for a man who own a company for the $ because otherwise i cannot pay my rent, i cannot get food to eat etc etc until i find my way to be the boss of myself and I am sure most of us are also working for somebody or party ...
